Tube life is a series of observational drawings as part of a yearlong project, A drawing a day.
My images capture people from different backgrounds, cultures and different ages being bought together in a small space, sometimes chatting, sleeping, reading, listening to music, staring into space or trying to avoid the glance of others.
…will they settle down or jump off at the next stop?
Sketching has to be fast; detail and colour are added in later. Trying to be as unobtrusive as possible I’m developing the art of anticipating peoples movements – will they settle down or jump off at the next stop? Not always easy on a crowded train!
Check out Adrian’s stunning work at his website and also his website devoted to the drawing a day projecthere.
